Toddler Beddings

Our DD is officially a toddler now and the more she don't like sleeping in her crib. I was thinking of getting her own small bed and we can have it attached in our bed so I can still watch her while she sleeps. Her crib is too small for her since she moves a lot when sleeping. She rolls over from side to side. If she is on the crib just one roll over and she will hit the sides already. Now in our big bed she occupies most of the space. She rolls over and change position without any waking ups.

Surviving Spouse

Last week I was watching our local news and they featured surviving spouses of our fallen heroes here at the base where my hubby is stationed. It is very heartbreaking hearing their stories. The surviving spouses formed this group wherein they help each other coping the loss of their beloved soldiers. Some of them are still young and just got a baby, there is one who is still pregnant when their partner got killed in combat and wasn't able to see their child. Very sad stories but I am moved by their courage. It is my everyday prayers that God will always protect our soldiers because there is nothing more painful and hurting than losing a love one.

Fashion Style

When it comes to fashion I am very updated, like what's hot and what's not. Though as I have said I am up to date but I am not applying it to myself. I only dress up casually, like wearing my Dockers pants all the time as a matter of fact. I am a pants or jeans person that only go for simple and comfortable, for me, fashion. Among the celebrity icons, I like Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston. Even though they are among the A-list celebrities but they look very chick even if wearing only jeans. There are lots of Hollywood icon's that are so trendy and showing off and I don't like that. Although they have the right but it is just too much of a fashion for me. Daddy is Our Rock

Most of our conversation on the phone when hubby calls me is about our DD. I will give him update about her and what she is doing. Yesterday morning I told him that our DD is running a slight temperature he also got worried. The last thing we want her to suffer is being sick. So when we talked he told me to just hang on and he'll be here with us very, very soon. He always told me that I am doing very great and I am a great Mom. He keeps assuring me that everything will be alright. He is very positive even if he is worried. Even if he is away he is still my rock and someone I can depend on.

New York, New York, New York

When I was still in the Philippines once you mentioned US of A what comes to my mind is New York and California. I don't know but these two states are very familiar to me. That is why when I came here I really vowed to visit these states one day. Then in 2006 during Thanksgiving day, hubby decided to spend Thanksgiving with her brothers and sisters in New York. It was a dream come true. I have been told that it is a city that never sleeps. Things to do in New York City are a lot. This was proven to me by my brother-in-law as well when he told us he goes to see a movie around midnight.

I still want to go back there. I still have so many things that I wanted to see. I don't mind doing a sightseeing tours again. I wanted to see shows in the Broadway as well as night live shows and stand up comedy shows. I believe given another week to do most of the things to do in New York will be enough for me. More Meetings and Briefings

Now that our soldier is within reach in their homecoming, the battalion is sending messages for meetings and briefings. I really love to attend all of it but we leave off post and I am not yet registered with the CYS (Children and Youth Services) for child care. Also the meeting is held during night time. But I am glad that they also sent out information thru email of what will be the activities coming up as well as what came out during the meeting. They also call us whatever the plan is. We are all very excited for their coming home I myself can't wait. Another 2 weeks and our Daddy will be home.

Small Business Opportunity

Thinking about having financial independence and making a good income we can look into small business opportunity. If we have our own business, even if it is only a small one, we can make it grow. We will be our own boss and nobody will boss us around. It is a good idea and I am wishing that one day I can find a good business to start up with. I know there are business franchise that you can choose from different type of business sector, food, automotive, dry goods and more. I will just decide what business I am going to venture into so I can at least start very soon.

Warning Tag

I was a bit mad yesterday because I found a warning tag in our truck that was parked in a free space of our apartment complex. I am not using my husband's truck since I have my car. It is parked in a free space but somehow another tenant complained that it is not moving. I went to the office and asked the manager why is that so. I told them that I don't usually use it and the truck is in condition. And the other lady in the office even suggested I move the truck somewhere else to make others happy. Are you kidding me? It doesn't make sense at all. I will switch parking anyway. I will move the truck in our carport and park my car in a free space near our building.

Going Out

I haven't been going out since hubby left. I just don't like going out by myself with a little tot in tow. Then Wednesday evening a friend of mine invited me to dine out. I guess it will be fun for the first time here I will be able to go out with friends. Hubby is encouraging me to go out and have fun but it's me that just don't like to go. So this time I went out with them and it's a good feeling that you are able to chit chat with friends and talk about child rearing and all. They have 2 kids so she is giving me some tips on motherhood. I am looking forward for another going out with them. Hopefully with hubby since he will soon to be home.

Early Call

I woke up very early because hubby called me. It was still 4am when he called. He said he just want to hear my voice, how sweet :-) Yep since he wasn't able to call me last night that is why. And as usual everytime he calls me at this time we only talk for 5 minutes because he has to go back to work. I just feel very special because he always finds time and even if he don't have anything new to tell me as long as he can call me and hear my voice. He said that it makes him reassured that we are also doing okay here. I am also glad that he can call me everyday. That assures me too that he is doing very good.

My Silk Plants

My Mom has a green thumb. Everything she plants it will really grow. We have a nice flower and vegetable garden back home. She also has different flowering plants and orchid collections. My oldest sister has my Mom's trait because she can do wonders also in this aspect. I myself really wanted to try gardening or planting some flowers but it will stay alive long, it's either it die early or won't flower at all. Another thing now that keeps me from doing some gardening work is we don't have a garden space. We are living in an apartment an we can only plant in pots. Since I wanted to have some green inside the house, I opted for silk plants.

Right now I have silk plants inside our apartment. Actually I have four; 2 of them are 5 feet tall ficus and palm tree, a small green vines in a basket and the other one is a 2 1/2 ft tall green foliage. I love the fact that I see greens inside our dwelling place. It adds drama to our space. The trees looks very real. This is the joke hubby told me when he called a few hours ago :-) Their return is fast approaching and he loves throwing jokes on me about his home coming. He would ask if I prepare something such as surprise for him, or what will I do as soon as I see him, what will be our DD's reaction and things that he is very excited to experience. He also joked what if when he gets off the bus and because he forgot how I look like he will embrace somebody else. We were just laughing about his jokes and what ifs. We both know that he is only joking. I really don't know what will be my reaction aside from going to be overjoyed.

The Final Two

America has voted and the final two to compete for American Idol Finale will be David Cook and David Archuleta. I am right in my guess that they will be the last two left and that this season's American Idol winner will be a guy. Both of them can sing but I am rooting on David Cook. For me he is the Idol package. He has an amazing voice and he can sing almost any song, rock, ballad, country, love song, etc. His voice has a nice range and he can act whatever he sings. Both of them is deserving though and I believe they both will have a great career in the music industry.
